The taskbar in Windows 10 lists your pinned and active applications so you can easily access them.
However, the taskbar is also an element that is persisent on your screen and you may want to disable the taskbar in Windows 10. Disabling is a bit drastic, don’t you think? There is another way of freeing up that precious screen space at the bottom of your screen: hiding it. To make the taskbar auto hide itself, right-click on your taskbar first. Then, click on Taskbar Settings. From the new window that just opened, toggle ‘Automatic hide the taskbar in desktop mode’ so it is enabled for your system.
Et voila, that’s all you needed to do. Your taskbar will now automatically hide itself (with a dropdown effect) from your screen. To activate it again, move your mouse to the bottom of the screen and the taskbar will appear again so that you can interact with it.
There is one exception: when there is a program which is blinking/pulsing (the typical orange colour), than the taskbar will stay active and will not hide itself – untill the pulsing taskbar is opened.
The same trick can be applied on a tablet, laptop or desktop computer.
