Microsoft Word: turn just one page to horizontal (portrait)

In Microsoft Word, you have a lot of options for page layout. One of the options is to rotate the page from vertical (default) to horizontal page orientation. But, if you do so, all the pages in that Word document will be oriented vertically or horizontally. What if you only want to have one horizontal page in Word, while the other pages remain vertical.

Here are the steps:

  • First, you go to the last page that you want to be vertical
  • From there, click on Page Layout, choose Breaks and click on the option Next Page.

That’s the first set of steps. Now we will put one page in Word horizontally (landscape).

  • Click on the page that you want to put horizontal
  • Go to Page Layout
  • Click on Orientation and choose Landscape

This should work in Word 2010, Word 2013, Word 2016 and likely onwards.
