The iPhone allows you to record your own screen. That’s very cool to record something you are doing and afterwards share it to someone else. It also a great way to make a tutorial which you can later share online, such as on YouTube.
In order to start recording your iPhone screen, you will need to make sure you enable the option in the Control Center. So go to Settings, then scroll down to Control Center and choose to Customise Controls.
You will now see two lists: the list on top are your current controls that are enabled when you open Control Centre by swiping/dragging up from the bottom. The bottom list are the inactive (but available) controls. Look for the red icon which says ‘Screen Recording. Add it to the active controls by tapping the green plus (+) sign next to it.

Now if you swipe up from the bottom of your screen, you will have the option to start recording your iPhone screen without an having to install an app for this.
Here is how it works:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen
- Select the record button by tapping it once
- There will be a 3 second countdown
- The recording is happening: the status bar on top will become red, which is an indication you are currently recording what is shown on the screen
- Tap the red status bar in order to stop the recording
Your recording is saved in your camera roll afterwards. Make sure you have enough storage space available, as the recordings take quite some space in total given the big screen resolution of recent iPhones.
