OneDrive is the storage service from Microsoft that comes installed with Windows 10. It also will be started on computer boot, resulting in a slower boot time. So as myself, you may wish to remove OneDrive from Windows 10.
With a couple of steps, you can completely disable OneDrive from your Windows installation luckily.
Step 1 – Open a text editor, such as notepad and paste the following text into it. If you have a 32-bit operating system:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{018D5C66-4533-4307-9B53-224DE2ED1FE6}] "System.IsPinnedToNameSpaceTree"=dword:00000000
If you have a 64-bit operating system:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{018D5C66-4533-4307-9B53-224DE2ED1FE6}] "System.IsPinnedToNameSpaceTree"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{018D5C66-4533-4307-9B53-224DE2ED1FE6}] "System.IsPinnedToNameSpaceTree"=dword:00000000
Step 2 – Save this file as onedrive.reg somewhere you can find it back easily, such as on your desktop.
Step 3 – Now open that file and click Run. Click OK on the window prompt.
If you also want to remove OneDrive from the explorer window, please open the following blog article for instructions.
